Let’s all be honest for a few minutes, very few TV adverts are ever appreciated let alone remembered. If anything, they come as ideal toilet breaks during your favorite sitcom, or an opportunity to surf to another channel so that you can be sure that you not missing a better show on some other network.
In a world where we are permanently harassed by the latest products and branding, for anything to stand out it does not have to be the brightest or the loudest, it merely needs to be entertaining and move you in one way or another.
If a TV Ad connects with you, or better yet, if you really connect with an ad on a personal level and it was something you enjoyed watching, something you’d look forward to seeing again and again, then perhaps in that moment it became less of an ‘ad’ and more about being entertained.
Then that’s an effective TV Ad, and a job well done.
